Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 will offer a raft of updates, Microsoft claims
Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 operating system users.
The revamped browser has been introduced as a "preview," or test, mode and will not be compatible with XP, Vista and any other older Windows version.
The company said Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 will offer full screen UI for sites, improved security to protect from Web threats and improved performance, and support for the HTML5 and CSS3 standards developers need.
Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7 comes with the "Do Not Track" feature which sends signal to Web sites by default to help consumers protect their privacy, the company said.
IE10 is claimed offer enhanced hardware acceleration by brining Chakra JavaScript engine to Windows 7.
Microsoft had debuted its Internet Explorer 10 along with the release of its Windows 8. IE10 claims to bring powerful HTML5 engine to Windows 7 customers offering better visual effect, page lay out, enhanced Web programming features.
The company has sold about 670 million Windows 7 licenses since it launched the OS in 2009 and the new browser will cater to the needs of those users.
